WHICH BICYCLES ARE COMPATIBLE WITH 1ON E-ROAD SYSTEM?

Most bicycles with quick-release rear dropouts (commonly called quick releases) are compatible with the E-Road system. However, it is the authorized installer who can give definitive confirmation of compatibility.

HOW MUCH DOES THE E-ROAD SYSTEM WEIGH?

1ON E-Road has a weight ranging from 3.6 kg to 4.2 kg complete with battery. The weight varies according to the type of Battery Pack that is adopted. It should not be forgotten, however, that the total weight of the 1ON kit is added to the bicycle, minus the weight of the rear hub which is replaced which is usually around 350 grams.

WHY DOES THE E-ROAD SYSTEM ADD ONLY 2 KG OF WEIGHT TO MY BIKE?

The 1ON E-Road system consists of extralight components. The total weight of the system with Battery Pack 250 is 3.6 kg. Therefore, to complete the installation, slightly less than 2kg will be added, which corresponds to the weight of the engine minus the weight of the replaced rear hub. Since the battery is not integrated, it can be easily removed, a very convenient and practical condition if you want to load the bike on the car roof to take it on vacation or to a gathering of friends. In this case your bicycle will only weigh 2kg more.

WHAT TYPE OF ENGINE IS IT?

The motor of the 1ON E-Road Kit is of the brushless type with epicyclic reduction 13.5: 1 which reaches the maximum torque of 25 Nm at 80 rpm. This translates into an excellent engine response even on the most demanding climbs and for slightly overweight cyclists. However, it should never be forgotten that the engine power limit is 250 watts.

WHERE CAN I BUY IT?

The Infinity E-Road system can only be purchased through authorized dealers . Please visit our page with our dealers to check for an installer in your area. If not, contact us using the information request form and we will be able to direct you in the best way to install 1ON E-Road on your bicycle.

WHAT IS THE SPEED LIMIT?

The 1On Kit is factory set with a limit of 25 Km / h , as required by the EN15194 regulation which regulates the circulation of pedal-assisted bicycles on public roads.
However, it is possible to unlock this speed limit directly via the Infinity RS App , in this way the maximum speed that can be reached will be around 35-37 Km / h. Please note that doing so will take full responsibility for using the bicycle on public roads.e.

1ON HMI-BLUETOOTH

The control unit of the Infinity 1ON Kit communicates with your Smartphone via BT 4.0 protocol.

It can also be managed through a convenient handlebar control that allows you to view both the assistance level and the percentage of battery charge.

1ON – HMI

WHAT IT IS USED FOR?

It is the control system that modulates the engine thrust based on the pre-selected use mode. More than 10 times per second the system adapts the power supplied by the engine based on weather conditions, road surface and changes in slope.

The Infinity control system is fully developed by our team of Engineers and Programmers in Italy

WHAT ARE THE MAIN FUNCTIONS?

It is possible to set different assistance levels ranging from 20% to 100% of the maximum engine power. By selecting the Power  function it is possible to manually choose the various levels of assistance, while with one of the Cardio functions the motor autonomously modulates the thrust of the motor according to the heart rate and the selected training program (cardio modes only work by associating a sensor with the Smartphone BT Smart , type Polar, Wahoo, Garmin etc.)

WHAT IS CARDIOCONTROLLO?

It is an innovative engine thrust control system based on heart rate.

Our team of engineers and programmers has developed hardware and software that can take advantage of the simple concept that heart rate is directly proportional to the effort made by the cyclist.

So as the effort increases, the power of the motor will consequently increase, which thanks to continuous bio-feedback will allow you to keep the heart rate constant according to the selected training program.

WHAT ARE THE ASSISTANCE MODES?

There are two main assistance modalities:

Power and Cardio.

In Power mode, the motor provides fixed assistance in terms of Watts. You can manually select the desired assistance level using the Infinity RS application or the comfortable handlebar control

More information on Power mode can be found here .

In HRW assistance mode, the motor is managed autonomously by the 1ON-HMI control unit   based on the cyclist’s heart rate and the pre-selected training program (cardio modes can only be used with a BT Smart sensor, such as Polar, Wahoo , Garmin, etc. with your smartphone).

More information on HRW mode can be found here .

Examples of how to assist:

Motor assistance: 20% (about 50 Watt)

Ideal mode for long and flat routes (it guarantees an autonomy of about 6 hours with the Pack250 battery)

Motor assistance: 40% (about 100 Watt)

Ideal for short training sessions with fixed assistance (guarantees autonomy of about 3 hours with the Pack250 battery)

Motor assistance: from 60% to 100% (150-250 Watt)

A lot of power but an eye on consumption, ideal for escaping from the group before reaching the neckline.

CAN I USE MY EBIKE WITHOUT THE SMARTPHONE?

The 1ON-HMI control unit keeps the last selected function in memory before turning off the battery.

Furthermore, it is possible to install the handlebar control optionally, which allows you to manage the POWER mode through 5 increasing assistance levels.

More info on POWER mode you can find them here .

WHAT IS THE INFINITY RIDE CLUB?

It is your personal area where you can download and review all the workouts and laps done with your racing bike equipped with the Infinity 1ON KIT. In addition, you can also automatically share all workouts with Strava.

1ON – HUB MOTOR

The motor is of the Brushless type (brushless) which delivers a maximum power of 250 Watts with about 500 Watts peak. It is equipped with an epicyclic reduction gear which allows to improve performance and silence. The control electronics is completely integrated into the drive unit located in the rear hub.

1ON – Hub motor

WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM TORQUE OF THE ENGINE?

The maximum torque exerted by the Infinity 1ON-M engine of about  30 Nm at about 90-100 rpm .

For classic bikes without engine assistance, the torque is the force exerted by the cyclist’s legs on the cranks to turn the rear wheel and consequently to move the bike forward.

A torque of about 30Nm added to those exercised by our legs allows an average trained cyclist to manage a demanding climb of 8% with peaks of even 13% in complete peace of mind without falling engine performance.

DOES THE ENGINE HAVE AN INTERNAL RESISTANCE?

Inside the engine there is a free wheel or clutch that allows the engine to turn without friction when it is not running (for example if the battery is discharged).

IS IT POSSIBLE TO RECOVER THE ENERGY IN BRAKING?

At the moment it is not possible.

1ON battery packs

The 250Wh and 375Wh Infinity Battery Packs  are well camouflaged inside the bottle-shaped aluminum cases to remain completely unnoticed and to keep the lines of the bicycle clean.

WHAT TYPE OF BATTERY IS THIS?

Infinity ebike batteries consist of LG 18650 lithium batteries with a capacity of 3400 mAh

WHAT CAPACITY DO BATTERIES HAVE?

Two models available:

Pack250 with nominal capacity of 250Wh

Pack375 with a nominal capacity of 375Wh

Batteries weigh 1.2 kg and 1.8 kg respectively.

HOW DO I TURN ON THE BATTERY?

Follow these simple steps:

Insert the battery into the bottle cage.
Make sure the battery is turned off before connecting the connector to the battery base. The battery must be in the OFF position every time it is connected to the motor.

Place the power button in the ON position by pressing it. The Infinity 1ON system is thus activated. In this position you can start associating your Infinity 1ON Kit with the Infinity RS App downloaded to your smartphone.

HOW DO I CHARGE THE BATTERY?

Each Infinity 1ON Kit is equipped with a dedicated charger to get the most out of the charging cycle.

You can charge the battery directly on the bike or remove the battery, a very simple operation to perform and therefore you can recharge it wherever you want.

Connect the charger to the home network and then insert the plug into the charging socket near the power button on the batteries.
Make sure the battery is turned on before connecting it to the charger. We recommend that you disconnect the charger from the battery as soon as the charging LED changes from RED to GREEN.

At the end of the charging cycle, turn off the battery by placing the button in the OFF position.

WHAT IS THE RECHARGING TIME?

Charging time depends on battery capacity:

Half charged Full charge
Battery Pack 375 About 2 and a half hours About 5 hours
Battery Pack 250 1 hour and a half approx About 3 hours

The charger is equipped with an LED that shows the charging status:

Red : charging in progress
Green : charging completed
Flashing red : charging after excessive battery discharge

RECHARGE RECOMMENDATIONS

Lithium-ion batteries have no charge memory, so you don’t need to fully discharge the battery before recharging it. We recommend that you charge the battery after each lap and avoid over-discharging the battery.

Make sure the battery is turned on before connecting it to the charger. Disconnect the battery from the charger once the charging cycle is complete and turn off the battery by placing the power button in the OFF position.
Do not leave the battery connected to the charger after it has been fully charged (green LED).
When the battery is not in use, always turn it off by placing the power button in the OFF position.
When you are not using your ebike for a long time, in addition to putting the power button in the OFF position, completely disconnect the battery from the ebike and place it in a dry place, away from sources of light, heat and humidity.
Let the battery cool down a bit before recharging it if you have just returned from the tour.
Always charge in a dry place at room temperature away from direct light and heat sources close to the battery and charger.

WHAT IS THE AUTONOMY OF THE BATTERY?

The range calculation is not a fixed unit and depends on a variety of factors, including:

Total  weight : weight of the bicycle + weight of the cyclist + weight of the accessories (backpacks, luggage racks, etc.);
Type of bicycle and riding style;
Average running speed:  obtained from the sum of the engine assistance and the cyclist’s effort;
Soil and surface: sliding surfaces allow reduced battery consumption
Atmospheric conditions: wind and rain greatly reduce the overall autonomy of the single recharge;
Restart frequency: avoid as far as possible to restart the engine from a standstill to avoid unnecessary energy consumption due to the restarting peak of the engine;
Battery capacity: battery with higher capacity also means more autonomy;

This means that each calculation of the Infinity electric bicycle range will be slightly different because they are all pedaled in different ways, in different places, with different cyclists and set-ups.

Autonomy in normal conditions Pack250: 40-100 km
Autonomy in normal conditions Pack370: 60-150 km

HOW TO INCREASE THE BATTERY AUTONOMY?

Here are some tips on how to maximize the autonomy of an Infinity 1ON rechargeable battery:

Total weight: Try to minimize your total weight by taking as few heavy objects with you as possible.
Minimum assistance level: minimum support level means low energy consumption and therefore more hours of autonomy.
Cadence:  try to pedal with a constant cadence and around 80-90 pedal strokes per minute to obtain the maximum possible performance. A very slow pedaling cadence is very expensive and significantly increases battery consumption.
Starting and braking: Less frequent are the stops and restarts and more km will be possible to cover. As with the car, the rule applies that long distances at constant speed are the most economical driving style.
Gear change:Change ratios smoothly and use ratios that allow for agile pedaling and constant engine effort.
Tire pressure:  Checking the tire pressure at each exit or in any case on a weekly basis will help reduce the rolling resistance of the wheels, guaranteeing greater autonomy.
Weather conditions: Even the weather conditions can vary greatly the general autonomy of the battery. Strong wind and low temperatures reduce battery runtimes

WHAT TO DO IF THE BATTERY DISCHARGES?

When the battery drains as a result the motor stops turning but you can still pedal on your bike equipped with the Infinity 1ON system without much effort. What you add to your bicycle are just over 3 kg, comparable to a backpack of books on your shoulders.

HOW TO CLEAN THE BATTERY?

We recommend using a damp cloth to clean the battery. Batteries are protected against splashing water. Cleaning with direct water jet or immersion in water, however, is not allowed. Before washing the bicycle, remove the battery.

If the battery is not used for a long period of time, store it at room temperature in a dry place. It is recommended not to keep it fully charged or completely discharged. The ideal state of charge for long storage periods between 40-60%

WHAT ARE THE RECOMMENDATIONS?

When the battery is not in use, always turn it off by placing the power button in the OFF position. If the battery is not turned off, the control system will continue to consume a small part of energy which will cause a reduction in the battery charge which could be completely discharged after several weeks of inactivity.
Make sure the battery is turned on before connecting it to the charger.
The battery power button must be in the OFF position every time it is connected to the motor (when the connector is inserted in the base of the battery).
